What Is a CMA?

A Comparative Market Analysis is a report prepared by a licensed REALTOR® that estimates a property's market value by comparing it with recently sold homes in the same area. In Greater Vancouver, CMAs typically draw from MLS® data maintained by the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) or the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB).

Tip: A CMA is not the same as a formal appraisal. Appraisals are performed by certified appraisers and are required by lenders - CMAs are marketing tools prepared by your agent.
