Two different dates that matter
Two Dates, Two Events
In BC, the closing process has two key dates:
• Completion Day: The legal transfer of ownership. Title transfers from seller to buyer. The buyer's lawyer sends the purchase funds to the seller's lawyer. PTT is paid. The mortgage is registered on title.
• Possession Day: The day you get the keys and can physically move in. Typically 1–2 business days after completion.
