The Exemption at a Glance
BC exempts qualifying first-time buyers from the tax on the first $500,000 of a home's fair market value (FMV). The full exemption applies to homes worth up to $835,000. Between $835,000 and $860,000 it phases out, and at $860,000 or more there is no exemption.
