The Problem It Solves
During the 2020–2022 market frenzy, buyers routinely waived all subjects (inspection, financing, title review) to compete in multiple offers. Many ended up with serious defects, financing gaps, or buyer's remorse with no way out. The BC government introduced the rescission period to give buyers a mandatory safety net.
